So, when's the big day, you ask? The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to kick off on June 8, 2026. That's right, just when you thought it was safe to plan your summer holiday without checking the football schedule. But fear not, the tournament will wrap up on July 19, giving you plenty of time to recover from the emotional rollercoaster that is supporting England.

Now, you might be wondering, "Why the long wait?" Well, FIFA, in their infinite wisdom, decided to expand the tournament to include everyone. That's right, it's like they're trying to make the World Cup the world's biggest dinner party, and they've invited the entire neighbourhood. So, expect a lot of new faces, and maybe even a few awkward silences.

Now, I know what you're thinking, "But what if England tops their group and sails through to the knockout stages?" Well, then you'll get to enjoy the sweet, sweet agony of supporting England in the Round of 16, which will take place on July 3 and 4. And if they keep winning (fingers crossed!), they could be playing in the quarter-finals on July 7 and 8, the semi-finals on July 11 and 12, and even the final on July 19!

But let's not get ahead of ourselves. We all know England's track record in the knockout stages is about as reliable as a British summer. So, let's just take it one match at a time, yeah?
