How Many Episodes Of Downton Abbey Are There

So, there I was, minding my own business, binge-watching Downton Abbey for the millionth time, when it suddenly hit me - I had no idea how many episodes were in this grand old series. I mean, I knew it was a lot, but could I put a number to it? Nope. So, I decided to do some digging, and here's what I found out, just for you, my fellow Downton enthusiasts.

Let's Talk About Seasons, Baby

First things first, Downton Abbey ran for six seasons. Yes, you heard it right, six! That's more seasons than some countries have months. Now, I know what you're thinking, "But what about the movie?" Well, hold your horses, we'll get to that later.

Season Breakdown

Each season has a varying number of episodes, ranging from eight to nine. So, let's do some math here. If we add up all those episodes, we get a grand total of... wait for it... 52 episodes! Yes, you read that right. Fifty-two episodes of upstairs-downstairs drama, romance, and intrigue.

Now, I know some of you might be thinking, "But I've seen all those episodes a hundred times, and I'm still not satisfied!" Well, my friend, I have good news for you.

Enter the Movie

In 2019, the Crawleys and their staff graced our screens once more, but this time, it was in the form of a feature film. And guess what? It was a whopping 122 minutes long! That's right, over two hours of Downton goodness. So, if you're counting the movie, you're looking at a grand total of... drumroll please... 54 episodes and a movie.

But wait, there's more! If you're a real die-hard fan, you might have also caught the Downton Abbey Christmas special in 2011. That's right, an extra helping of Downton to tide us over until the next season. So, if we're including that, we're up to... 55 episodes and a movie. Now that's what I call a feast!

But Wait, There's More

And if all that wasn't enough, Downton Abbey: A New Era is set to hit theaters in 2022. That's right, another movie! So, who knows? Maybe we'll be adding even more to our Downton tally soon.

Now, I know what you're thinking. "That's all well and good, but how am I supposed to watch all those episodes and movies?" Well, my friend, that's a question only you can answer. But if you ask me, I say, "Pour yourself a cup of tea, get comfy, and dive in. After all, as Lady Mary would say, 'We must make the best of things.' "
