Johnny Depp, meet Freddy Krueger

Imagine this: it's the late '80s, and Johnny Depp, fresh off his TV stint in '21 Jump Street,' is looking for his big movie break. Then, bam! Along comes Wes Craven with an idea so terrifying, it's become a horror staple - A Nightmare on Elm Street. Johnny must've thought, "Sign me up!"

From teen heartthrob to horror icon

In the film, Johnny plays Glen Lantz, a high school jock with a secret crush on Nancy Thompson (played by the amazing Heather Langenkamp). Now, Glen's not your typical hero - he's got a bit of a dark side. And Johnny? He nails it. He brings this edge to Glen, making him both likable and kinda... not so much.

Think about it - Johnny Depp, playing a character who's not always on the up-and-up? It's like when your favorite teacher turns out to have a secret life as a rockstar. Mind. Blown.
