When Does Derek Die In Grey's Anatomy

So, you're wondering when Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd bites the big one in Grey's Anatomy, huh? Well, grab a coffee (or a wine, no judgment here), get comfy, and let's dive into this together. Spoilers ahead, obviously!

Season 11, Episode 21 - "How to Save a Life"

Alright, so we're in Season 11, and things are heating up in Seattle. Derek's been busy with his foundation, and Meredith's been, well, Meredith. But then, bam! Plot twist alert! A car accident happens, and Derek's involved. Cue the dramatic music, right?

Now, I know what you're thinking, "But wait, didn't Derek die in a car accident?" Yes, yes, he did. But here's the thing, this car accident wasn't the car accident. It's just a little teaser, a taste of things to come. Derek walks away from this one, but the tension's ratcheted up a notch.

Season 12, Episode 24 - "Unaccompanied Minor"

Okay, now we're getting serious. Derek's been working on a case, trying to help a young girl with a brain tumor. He's determined, passionate, and, as always, incredibly dedicated. But then, plot twist number two! Derek decides to take a detour on his way home to check on a patient. And that, my friend, is when the unthinkable happens.

In typical Grey's Anatomy fashion, it's not all doom and gloom right away. Derek's in a coma, and the docs are fighting to save him. There's hope, there's despair, there's drama - it's Grey's Anatomy, after all! But alas, despite their best efforts, Derek doesn't make it.
