First Things First: A Quick Refresher

If you've been living under a rock (or perhaps in a hidden cave with your own dragon, no judgment), 'How to Train Your Dragon' is an animated film series by DreamWorks Animation. It's all about a young Viking named Hiccup and his best friend, a Night Fury dragon named Toothless. They're like the ultimate bromance, but with more fire and less... well, you know.

Now, About That Release Date

Alright, let's cut to the chase. The last movie, 'How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World,' was released in 2019. It was a beautiful, emotional rollercoaster that left us all bawling like babies. But then, DreamWorks went and dropped a bombshell: they're making a TV series!

Yes, you heard it right! 'How to Train Your Dragon: The Series' premiered in 2012, and it's been going strong ever since. But we're not here to talk about the show (well, not entirely). We're here to find out when we can expect the next big-screen adventure.

So, What's the Deal with the Next Movie?

Well, here's where things get a little tricky. As of now, there's no official release date for the next 'How to Train Your Dragon' movie. DreamWorks has been pretty tight-lipped about the whole thing. It's like trying to get a dragon to share its treasure - they just won't budge!

How To Train Your Dragon Title

But fear not, dear dragon-lovers! All is not lost. In 2020, DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffery Katzenberg hinted that there might be more 'How to Train Your Dragon' movies in the works. He said they're "looking at the feature side" and that "there's a lot more story to tell." So, there's hope! We just need to be patient, like a dragon waiting for its favorite fish.

But What About That TV Series?

While we're waiting for the next movie, we can always dive back into the world of Berk with 'How to Train Your Dragon: The Series.' The show follows Hiccup and Toothless as they explore the Hidden World and beyond. It's filled with new dragons, new adventures, and even a few familiar faces. Plus, it's a great way to keep your dragon fix going until the next movie drops.
