Is There Going To Be An Old Guard 3

So, About That Old Guard 3, Eh?

Alright, gather 'round, folks. Let's chat about something that's been buzzing in our collective popcorn-munching brains - is there going to be an Old Guard 3? Now, before we dive in, let's set the scene. Imagine you're at a party, and you spot a group huddled together, whispering excitedly. They're not talking about the latest TikTok dance or who brought the best dip. No, they're discussing something far more thrilling - the potential sequel to a badass action flick.

First Things First: What's the Old Guard, Again?

Alright, so you might be new to the party, or maybe you've been living under a rock (no judgment, we've all been there). The Old Guard is a 2020 Netflix film about a covert group of immortal mercenaries. Think of them as the original squad goals - they've been fighting together for centuries, and they're not afraid to get their hands dirty. The film was a hit, and it's no surprise that fans are clamoring for more.

Now, let's talk about what we know so far. The Old Guard was directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and starred Charlize Theron as Andy, the leader of the immortal crew. It was based on a comic book series by Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernández. The film was a smash hit, grossing over $91 million worldwide. So, it's safe to say that Netflix was pretty happy with the outcome.

So, What's the Deal with Old Guard 3?

Here's where things get a little tricky. As of now, Netflix hasn't officially announced a sequel. But, that doesn't mean we should start panicking and hoarding our popcorn just yet. Remember when everyone was freaking out about whether there would be a second season of Bridgerton? And then, boom! Netflix dropped the news, and we all did a happy dance.

Now, let's talk about the elephant in the room. The Old Guard ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, with Andy and Nile (KiKi Layne) setting off on a new adventure. Fans were left hanging, and let's be real, we all want to know what happens next. But, remember, cliffhangers are a classic movie trope. It doesn't necessarily mean that a sequel is in the works. It could just be a clever way to keep us on the edge of our seats.

What Are the Odds, Though?

Alright, let's play a little game of probability. If we were to place a bet on whether there will be an Old Guard 3, what would the odds be? Well, let's consider a few factors. First, the film was a success. Netflix likes money, and successful films make money. Second, the ending left room for a sequel. Third, the cast and crew have expressed interest in returning. Charlize Theron has said that she's up for another round, and Greg Rucka has mentioned that he has ideas for more stories.

But, here's the thing. Just because everyone wants something to happen, doesn't mean it will. Remember when we all wanted a live-action Lion King that was exactly like the original? Yeah, that didn't happen. So, while the odds might be in our favor, we shouldn't start planning our movie night just yet.
